1. Zero Remote Code Transmission
LaunchWizard performs non-destructive pre-flight compiler dry runs (tsc --noEmit, AST inspections, framework bundle checks) strictly locally within your editor process.
No part of your source code, components, file names, or project contents is ever sent to any remote server, analytics provider, or third-party cloud endpoint.
2. Environment Secrets & Configuration Safety
When LaunchWizard audits your workspace for missing environment variables or client-side secret exposure (such as verifying NEXT_PUBLIC_ prefixes), all checks occur entirely in-memory on your local CPU.
- We never read secret values into external network packets.
- We do not record, store, or transmit your
.envfile contents. - All auto-heals are applied directly to local files on your disk with in-memory rollback snapshots.
3. Public Preview Links
When you explicitly choose to launch a shareable link, LaunchWizard connects your chosen local port to a temporary public HTTPS URL using the first available provider: Cloudflare Quick Tunnel (cloudflared, trycloudflare.com) if installed; otherwise localhost.run over SSH (lhr.life); otherwise localtunnel (loca.lt), downloaded on demand from the public npm registry.
- Encrypted Transport: Links are served over HTTPS by the provider.
- Provider Routing: Visitors' traffic passes through the chosen provider's servers to your machine. LaunchWizard does not operate any server and does not log this traffic. Anyone with the link can open it until you stop it.
- User Control: Tunnels can be stopped instantly at any time via the 1-click "Stop Tunnel" button in the extension or webview deck.
4. License Validation & Payments
If you purchase LaunchWizard Pro Lifetime ($9.99 One-Time), your transaction is processed securely through Gumroad. We do not store or process your credit card numbers or financial details.
- Gumroad Verification: When you activate Pro, and about once a week afterwards, only your license key string is sent to Gumroad's official API (
api.gumroad.com) to check it is valid and not refunded. No device telemetry, workspace metadata, or code statistics are transmitted. - Device Activation: Your license covers up to three (3) personal developer machines. To count them, LaunchWizard stores a one-way hash of VS Code's machine identifier on your machine only; it is never sent anywhere.
4b. Pro Tools That Contact Third Parties (only when you run them)
- Visitor Log: For Pro links, a small proxy on your machine records each page visit (time, device type, browser, page path and IP address) in memory only. It is shown to you in the editor, never sent anywhere, and is gone when the link stops.
- Link Check: Before announcing a Cloudflare link, LaunchWizard asks Cloudflare's public DNS resolver (
1.1.1.1) whether the new hostname is live. Only the hostname is sent. - BYOK Deploy: Uploads your project to your own Vercel or Cloudflare Pages account with the token you provide. Tokens stay in VS Code's secure storage on your machine.
- Custom Subdomains: Run through a named Cloudflare Tunnel in your own Cloudflare account.
- Dependency Health: Runs
npm audit/npm outdated, which send your dependency list to the public npm registry, exactly as when you run them yourself.
5. Third-Party Integrations
LaunchWizard integrates with minimal, industry-standard developer platforms:
- Gumroad: Payment processing and license key issuance. (Gumroad Privacy Policy)
- localhost.run and localtunnel: Fallback preview-link providers, used only when Cloudflare's
cloudflaredapp is not installed. - Vercel: Deploy target for Pro BYOK deploys, using your own account. (Vercel Privacy Policy)
- Cloudflare: Preview-link infrastructure, public DNS check, Pages deploys (your own account) and website hosting. (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
- VS Code / Cursor / Open VSX Marketplace: Extension distribution platforms.
6. Data Retention & User Rights
Because LaunchWizard collects zero telemetry and retains zero server-side databases of your personal coding sessions, there is no personal user profile to delete or export. You have complete sovereignty over your local editor and codebase.
